Nominated for: BEST Theatre Group
Stage Left Theatre Company is a non-profit community theatre group committed to producing quality, innovative, and most of all entertaining theatre for our community. Established in 2004, we began as a collection of area performers, artists and theatre enthusiasts dedicated to expanding the live entertainment choices and performance opportunities available in the Medina area.
Inspired by the annual community events that take place in Medina’s Uptown Park one of Stage Left’s initial goals was to create an annual outdoor theatre experience utilizing the gazebo and park. Shakespeare in the Square, the free outdoor theatre performances planned for the third weekend every August, debuted in 2005 with the inaugural performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. The response to this new community event was overwhelmingly supportive and encouraging.
Stage Left, however, isn’t all about Shakespeare. With an emphasis on acting and performance we also strive to present productions that focus on character development and inventive performances. Our productions to date:
